Our fathers sleep now
\nIn the deepest heavens
\nOf our hearts
\nWe can barely find anymore.<\/p>\n

Like men lost at sea
\nThey call us from our blackest nights
\nAnd we want to swim to them
\nKnowing we will drown.<\/p>\n

When I asked my father about the Korean War
\nHe spoke only of the beautiful
\nSingapore girls
\nWho surely adored his perfect black curly hair.<\/p>\n

He lies now with other brave fathers
\nWho won\u2019t be called heroes
\nBut pull us from our dark grief dreams
