Stories were a way to take small slices of my life and make sense of it. Or make fun of it. When I got to high school I became the sports editor of our school paper. Since I was on the basketball and track teams I had real insights and connections. What that means is that I had buddies all wanting me to write about them. Anyway, it was fun and got me some paying gigs writing sports for the local paper, the Lemon Grove Review. Which incidentally deterred me from ever wanting to be a sports journalist.<\/p>\n<p>On this page I am going to write and collect snippets of my life as I recall them. It will take me some time but I want to write stories that are meaningful to me and hopefully to my sons and grandson. They are up there in my head and if I can shake the cobwebs from the details I\u2019ll tell you about a true love story. I\u2019ll tell you about hopping freight trains. Hitchhiking to Ohio and back over spring break. Building a dream studio on faith and friends.<\/p>\n<p>The great thing about turning 70 soon is I no longer have to impress anyone. But I still want to stay interesting and interested.
