March 2023

    Sir Winston

My noble companion was a proud West Highland Terrier. We spent nearly every day together for 13 and a half years.  He was my white shadow. Patti traveled a lot for work and the boys had moved on so it was Winston and I holding down the fort. This is nothing new to Dog People when I say we had a deep love and respect for each other, a connection that is super natural.

He had a great life. Cooked chicken breasts for dinner and chicken jerky for treats. He made the road trip to California with us every summer. And for his 10th birthday he and I did a West Texas tour. We didn’t speak much but we both we both marveled at the Chisos Mountains, the Rio Grande River and the jillions of stars at night.

I am not able to express how much I miss him so I will stop here. Dog People know.

    Photography Makes for Good Friends

During my time as a student at the University of Texas and my subsequent photography career I made some really great friends. On one glorious Austin spring day I had the pleasure of a reunion with a few of them at the Austin Beer Garden: F.T. Eyre, Jerry Sullivan and Dennis Darling. All great photographers and wonderful souls.
