Pop
Every year we go pick up Pop (my-ex father-in-law Lee) at his home in Woodland, CA and make the 30 minute drive up to Matchbook Winery to enjoy the beautiful vistas and a bit of the grape. Pop and I stay in touch via email most of the year but I enjoy this facetime. He has been and is a father and mentor for me. He’s pushed past 90 but he is as sharp and witty as ever. Few men have had a greater impact on my life.
Amtrak to Salem
Patti wanted to go visit her dear friends, Steve and MaryAnn in Salem, OR. So we decided to take Amtrak and purchase a sleeper car. I’ll have to say it was a great experience. Though the top bunk was a little challenging for my height the dining car and views made up for it. Next time, and we think there will be, we’ll opt for the bigger cabin.
Once in Salem we were treated like royalty and spent a wonderful day on the coast. Patti truly has the best longtime friends.
